Week 8- Eve and George
The year 4 to 6 students were in the talent quest. We had our school trip at Orakei basin and the Lagoon pools. We started making christmas animations. It was the year 4 assembly and Santa was there. We made Maori weather cards for miss h`s board. We had topic sharing on Thursday and on Monday some of the groups are going to perform at Meadowbank Kindy and the retirement village. Week 6- Hazel and Jenny
We made diaramas about novels that we have been reading. We had to make 3D characters to go into the scene. We are going to make movies for the end of the year to show all the work we have done. Some racing car drivers bought their cars and visited our school and some people got posters. Yesterday was mufti day to raise money for the people of the Phillipines. Hazel got the certificate for displaying manners. We went to read with our buddy class today.

Week 5- Whole Class
This week we had performing arts assembly and some of the teachers sang the cups song. Hazel, Lucy and Suzie performed in the ukulele group. Eve, James, Anika, Andy, Lucy and Suzie performed in the Kapahaka group. Congratulations to Alex who recieved the Citizenship Cup for Room 19.

Week 3- Whole Class
This week we had Halloween. Lots of people from our class got dressed up and went trick or treating. We had athletics day at Mt Smart stadium. Some the events were sprints, gumboot throw, 400m race, ball throw, javelin, standing long jump, high jump, long jump and 60m. We watched the relays. We had a meeting for our cultural picnic which is happening in a few weeks time. Most exciting is this weekend we have our school gala! Hopefully we will see you there.

Week 1- Billie and Zoe
We practiced athletics with Mr Ratcliffe and for sport. We did PicCollage which is a free app for the iPad. We used it to make our goal cards. Have a look at the examples below. We have been doing alpha ladders to show our thinking. We used 30 hands another new app to show our maths strategies. This week we have been working on a reading contract with some SOLO activities.

Week 9-Suzie and Agostina
This week we watched Wreck it Ralph. We made wanted posters for Babette Cole characters. We made paper helicopters. We got to use the iPads to remove all the photos and clear them for the term. In Maths we have been learning to read analouge and digital clocks. It was World Cartoon Day on Wednesday and we made some cartoons on Toondoo. The Kapahaka group went to the retirement village to perform. We had some visitors from China in our school this week. They were looking at our ways of teaching. Mr Ayson went to China last week. It is Gus's last day at school today and we will miss him!

Wind Powered Cars
Today we made some wind powered cars. Some of us had to modify our sails in order to catch the wind and push the car forward.
